5Exactly what I expceted, only WAY better!
By Justin G.
This bad boy arrived one day earlier than expected, packaged nice and safe (the awesome foam spray they use to ship things). Performed POST and booted into Windows Server 2012 R2 with no issues! All hardware is in great working condition. All 8 drives work perfectly, and the server was super clean and in damn near perfect condition! You bet your ass I'm going to be ordering from this place again, as I'm currently building my home lab for school and can't afford to spend thousands of dollars on a piece of equipment. Feel confident when you order items from this seller!

5Perfect, exactly as I hoped it would be
By SeattleRaybo
Having worked in backoffice IT for quite some time, I'm very familiar with this model and the entire DL380 series. I wanted a home server that would perform several functions. File server, distributed net key cracker, web server, and VM host for my home virtual computer lab. I knew that if this server worked as it should then it would easily be able to handle the jobs.

It arrived quickly, shipped in a standard double-box that this type of system is generally shipped in. This was the first time I'd seen this type of spray-in foam packing used for a server. After removing it from the box, I had to laugh at myself for needing to take a moment to determine how to release the server from it's foam encasement. Simple, just force your fingers into the narrow gap and pull the two halves apart HARD. This is a great method of protecting the contents during shipment. Very effective.

The server is exactly how it was pictured and described. (I saw that someone else didn't get the DVD drive. Mine does have it.) It's spotless inside and out, and in perfect physical condition. It passed POST, and went through the diags I DL'd from HP with flying colors. At this point, I have my server up, running, configured for RAID5, OS installed, running the first of several VMs that it will be hosting. This should work very well for my needs. I've already upgraded RAM to 64GB in preparation for the VMs.

5InFreakinCredible deal from PC Server & Parts
By Big Rob
I've bought two of these from PC Server & Parts. Shipping package is excessive, but well protected. Everything spun up, pressed F8 at the right moment to get into RAID config, to see everything was already setup as RAID 50. Both came with CD ROM (might be DVD, but I only used CD). Linux loaded quickly, and I have instant servers. $179 is an insanely good deal for a home server. I use generic black rails with wings on them, from Amazon. I hate sliding rails, as I'm always tinkering, and they are a pain to use alone. Wish the server has usb 3 or esata, but for this price I'll suck it up and use iscsi for disk storage.
