This book is terribly written. I'm almost certain that English is not the author's primary language. Their grasp on grammar is solid, but the way they structure sentences and phrase things is very unusual and makes the book awkward to read. Also the chapters seem out of order. The author will frequently reference things covered in later chapters as if the reader is already familiar with them. Sample code should have been used much more heavily as the author's descriptions are somewhat convoluted. Also the book was originally written for the Kindle, which is fine and it's great that they also offer an affordable print version as many readers (such as myself) prefer a real book, but the author will occasionally mention that the reader is using a Kindle to read the book. Why put that in?
I used to do a lot of coding in Python but hadn't used it much for the past decade. I'm starting to use Python more at work and just wanted a quick brush-up to refresh my memory. I read through this in a day and I'll be buying a slightly more in-depth book that's hopefully much better written.

This book is Absolutely Worthless!!!
The author rambles about terms like tuples with no explanation or definition of the term. The typos are so pervasive and egregious that it's clear he never bothered to proofread anything in the book. Examples would be things like calling something a "reserved word" in one sentence, then referring to it as a "reverse word" in the next, or using the greater than sign in code examples and calling it less than.
Bottom line, if you want to learn Python, this book is the wrong resource.

Truly a book for the beginning coder. Everyone has to start somewhere, and it's comforting to know you have a helping hand as you go. This book by Michael Knapp is that helping hand! Clearly written for any level of user to pick up and begin with, not overly complicated, but still provides the reader with the opportunity to experience the writing process for themselves rather than just spoon feeding it to you.
